Geoffroy de Vries advises companies of all sizes and their executives and shareholders, as well as investment funds, on the protection of their strategic interests, the organization of their businesses and their growth (via partnerships, M&A, private equity, international development).
Geoffroy started his law career in 2000 at Gide Loyrette Nouel where he worked on stock market transactions (IPO’s, takeover bids, tender offers). He joined the law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in 2003 and focused on cross-border acquisitions for English clients, then, in 2005 he joined the law firm Herald Avocats where he specialized in fundraising operations (venture debt, venture capital, development capital), M&A and leveraged transactions (LBO, MBO, OBO). He has also gained experience in litigation. In 2009, he created his own firm to service high-growth companies, and he founded Menlo Avocats in June 2018.
As a keen observer of civil society and economic and political life, Geoffroy de Vries is a member of various think tanks and associations, including the French “Centre d’Etude et de Prospective Stratégique” (Centre for Strategic and Prospective Studies), and regularly works with national political leaders on legal, corporate, economic and social issues. He publishes articles in legal journals and national newspapers.
He likes traveling and hiking and has just started to play golf.
